I'm Not the Greatest

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:1-5

The world’s most famous trash talk?

“I’m the Greatest.”

What happens when pride takes over? Arrogance.

None excluded.

How many in history have desired to be “the greatest?

Don’t make a list.

Jump to the fact: not one…was the greatest.

Now a sobering idea. In God’s view, who is greatest?

A child!

We abort our children.

A grievous condemnation on adults.

See the solution? “Unless you change…”

…”become like little children.

Begin. Face the truth: I’m not the greatest, never will be.

I’m guilty of ego and pride, not worthy in any way.”

But Jesus loves children; any age.

Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Luke 9:48
