He Predicts His Death

17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside privately and told them what was going to happen to him. 18 “Listen,” he said, “we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. 19 Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”

Matthew 20:17-19

We can’t predict our death. No human knows day or hour.

Death is not a pleasant thought to us.

He knew what would happen.

Knew before.

Knew He would be condemned to death by religious leaders.

Knew they would use Romans to flog, whip… crucify.

He knew another fact.

On the third day He would defeat death and live.

Again.

Forever.

Who does that?

Predict death, predict coming alive from the grave?

No human, none of the world religious leaders have made HIS claim:

Crucified, dead, buried, alive again in three days.

Jesus Christ…

perfect Prophet, eternal King, living Savior.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
