Had Enough of Fools?
12 Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.
13 Fools base their thoughts on foolish assumptions, so their conclusions will be wicked madness; 14they chatter on and on. No one really knows what is going to happen;
no one can predict the future. 15 Fools are so exhausted by a little work that they can’t even find their way home. Ecclesiastes 10:12-15
Why would the Teacher speak about a fool?
Could it be fools were a problem in his day?
They are today.
We are agreed on this…A fool lacks judgement, has no common sense.
Worse….a fool’s decisions are wicked.
Surprised?
Evil is in every heart. A fool is disadvantaged even when asleep.
How do we respond to these words?
Recognize a fool’s heart is within our being…always.
We are not exempt from foolishness.
The solution stares us in the face: What did the teacher do?
First, we humble ourselves. Then…ask for wisdom…
God will give it.
We’re never punished for asking.
You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. James 4:2
