Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

14 There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless. 15 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun. Ecclesiastes 8:14-15

The subject isn’t debauchery.

Joy is.

A gift…God’s

The teacher begins with life’s unfair. The wicked prosper.

BUT…

The prosperity of the wicked is meaningless.

Jesus has the last word…

“Those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.”

Friend, next is the gratitude message.

 Thankfulness.

God’s gifts?

Daily bread: food, drink and joy;

“Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father.”

Enjoy the life HE gives.

Rejoice in the present of each day. Paul repeats, “rejoice!”

“A merry heart is good medicine.”

“The joy of the Lord is our strength.”

God’s peace is freely given every day.
