A Case for Drowning

6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Matthew 18:6

Children are important to God.

He watches over them.

But some take advantage of children.

Children are gullible, innocent, easy to lead astray, weaker.

Take care how you treat the little children.

Children’s plural. All of them.

Hear again. This is eternally significant.

God watches over the children with particular alertness.

There is punishment for those who mislead children.

We cannot imagine a millstone drowning death.

Imagine anyway.

Imagine a large weight around your neck.

Consider being tossed into the ocean with it.

How quickly one would sink, never to rise, death certain.

Protect the children nearest you from sin.

And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:16
