The Teacher's Counsel

So go eat your food and enjoy it.  Drink your wine and be happy.

It is all right with God if you do this. 8 Put on nice clothes and make yourself look good.

9 Enjoy life with the wife you love. Enjoy all the days of this short life God has given you here on earth. It is all you have. So, enjoy the work you have to do here on earth. 10 Whatever work you do, do your best. This is because you are going to the grave. There is no working, no planning, no knowledge and no wisdom there.

Ecclesiastes 9:7-10

Gloomy, dejected, forlorn.

Try hopeless, unhappy, despondent.

Or…

Joyful, delighted, pleased.

Try excited, enthused, eager.

What’s your life going to be?

Full on negative?

Usually happy?

The Teacher reminds the grave is ahead, and life is short.

Who is in control?  Only two choices…

You?

God?

Give up, let go, stop striving, let God.

His will;

His power,

His plan;

His love.

Life is His gift.

Hope, happiness, peace, delight are all in God’s best package.

Take the Teacher’s counsel.

Life.

Let God direct each day; night.

Receive love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…

His spirit fruit for you.

A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy. But I came to give lifelife in all its fullness.

John 10:10
