What? Aliens in the Woods?
You see the small white ball on the forest floor…
…then another, then one larger than the rest.
Did aliens leave their toys?
Are there ostrich in the woods?
Hardly, these are giant puffballs.
Huge.
Fungi, not plants…
without chlorophyll, stems or roots…
…live by secreting enzymes onto the surface where they grow.
Fungi decompose things.
Giant puffballs amaze me.
Why white?
Why round?
Why solid…then later filled with fungal spores…?
How does a fungus contain so many healthy attributes?
Heals wounds…clots blood…
…anti-inflammatory…disease fighting…and
Anti-diabetic.
All in a giant white ball that grows in the woods.
